The Prophecy

I can't be bothered finding the exact qoute, buy the prophecy goes something like this... a man and a woman stood next to each other as they left Alagaesia forever. Above the boat two dragons were circling and on the shores, a man let out a cry of anguish.

My thoughts on this are as follows; Arya becomes the rider of the green dragon.
Saphira falls in love with said dragon.
However, Arya doesn't fall in love with Eragon.

My conclusion; The two people on the boat are leaving with the elves (Arya, and her lover). Saphira and green dragon circling above. Eragon on the beach crying in anguish as both the females he loves are leaving him.

Any thoughts?

no way, your just saying that to be annoying. you know it will be the fairytale ending. arya loves eragon, saphira loves the green dragon. rorans screaming in agony at eragon leaving him.........

That is my preferred ending, but I can't see things going so smoothly... Paolini has already shown he has no problem hurting Eragon's character.

Yes the first paragraph of the chapter "Deathwatch" in the first book, after he brings garrow back from the Ra'zaac. It wasnt so much of as prophecy as a sort of premonition I think but im certain that Saphira and Eragon would never leave each other like that willingly given the connection that riders and dragons have to one another.

Good point greeny... "Whatever he said." I dunno what'll happen in the end, maybe the man on the beach is Roran, screaming because Eragon wouldn't try to bring Katrina back from the dead? I just don't know, and I don't want to wait and see! Grrrrrr..... Why can't they publish books faster?!?!?!
